5 Things Every Parent Needs to Know About Their Kids & Sex by Anne Marie Miller is an excellent resource for expecting parents and current parents of children of all ages related to the often scary and awkward topic of sex, pornography, online issues, and more. The author does a great job of presenting information wisely, biblically, and with solid research.
The book unlocks not just how to have “the talk” but how to have the multitude of conversations throughout the development of your child in age-appropriate ways. The author does a good job of helping parents who would prefer to think that their child is the exception to this world’s culture and parents who may be concerned that their child is too far gone face reality but also maintain hope.
Even if the reader doesn’t agree with all of the content or perspectives of the author on some of the touchier topics related to sex and sexuality, the reader would be wise to not throw out the book’s entire content over issues of disagreement over differences of beliefs (that the author makes clear she isn’t trying to push down anyone’s throat).
