Book Review: What We Believe

what we believeWhat We Believe: Understanding and Confessing the Apostle’s Creed by R.C. Sproul takes the reader into the theology behind this historic statement of faith.
Over the course of thirteen chapters, the author takes the reader phrase-by-phrase through the creed. Each statement is explored with an eye to Scripture, history, and modern challenges to the Christian faith.

R.C. Sproul does an excellent job of not getting lost in the details (in fact, he has books written on pretty much each of the points of the Creed). He also does a good job of being generous on points of theological differences of opinion that fall withing healthy orthodoxy.
