R.C. Sproul has published another well thought through book. In The Last Days According to Jesus: When Did Jesus Say He Would Return?, Sproul takes the position of moderate-preterism to explore the words of Jesus regarding the last days and His return.
The author does a good job of exploring the words of Jesus, defending against the charge that Jesus somehow messed up the day of His return, and laying out a case for his particular view of eschatology. The book is an academic read and I won’t try to summarize moderate-preterism. Get the book if you want to explore this view, but be prepared for a book that you cannot skim and still get the main idea.
While I don’t necessarily agree with everything in the author’s eschatological hypothesis, R.C. Sproul does a good job of opening up and exploring his position based upon the text of Scripture.
