The Apologetics Study Bible for Students (HCSB) with Sean McDowell as the General Editor is an excellent resource for those who desire to engage the Word of God while also wrestling with tough questions (that they hold themselves or others ask of them).
The contributing editors do a great job of laying out book introductions, study notes, articles, commonly misunderstood texts, archaeological information, introductions to world religions, helps in answering tough questions, and more.
One of the elements that was especially delightful when reading through the Bible and its notes was discovering the balanced approach to areas of the text that are “open handed” issues among Christians (e.g. age of the Earth). The editors approach the areas of uncertainty with honesty and without an attempt to push their own agendas.
The Bible is a great resource for students…and for those who are older but always a “student” due to their hunger to learn and grow in their faith and witness of Christ to the world.
