The Irresistible Community: An Invitation to Life Together by Bill Donahue is a book that is born out of years of experience trying to figure out and develop community within the church. The author takes on the task of community development using the pictures of “Table,” “Towel,” and “Truth.”
The author’s life experience, the exposing of pitfalls, and words of conviction and encouragement makes The Irresistible Community a good resource to contemplate the building up of lives together. The author’s use of the “thoughts” of the early disciples makes for an interesting and empathetic connection point.
As well written as the book was, I did have trouble engaging with the content at times, though this could simply be a matter of user-error rather than the fault of the author.
